Trip overview
The Guided W Trek Highlights program brings together three of Torres del Paine’s most iconic experiences in one compact journey: Base Torres, the French Valley and Grey Glacier.
Instead of moving between refugios with your luggage, you stay for two nights at an equipped campsite in the Río Serrano sector and travel to each trailhead with the logistics arranged. Certified bilingual guides lead the hikes, while daily transportation, meals, catamaran crossings and camping equipment are organized in advance.
Your journey also includes a hotel night in Puerto Natales before and after the adventure, arrival and departure transfers. It is a demanding program for travelers who want to experience the W Trek’s signature landscapes in a shorter amount of time without organizing each service separately.

Early in the morning, you are picked up from your accommodation in Puerto Natales for the journey to Torres del Paine National Park. After registration and a safety briefing at the Welcome Center, begin the hike through the Ascencio Valley with your local guide.
The trail climbs through mountain terrain and lenga forest before reaching the final rocky moraine below the Towers. At the viewpoint, enjoy your box lunch with the granite peaks and glacial lagoon in front of you. After breakfast, travel to Pudeto and cross Lake Pehoé by catamaran to Paine Grande. From there, follow the trail beside Lake Skottsberg toward the heart of the French Valley.
After passing the Italiano sector, the route climbs toward the French viewpoint, surrounded by granite peaks and hanging glaciers. Weather and trail conditions permitting, take time to enjoy the valley before returning to Paine Grande. Cross Lake Pehoé again and transfer back to camp for a snack, dinner and your second night in the Río Serrano sector.

Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about logistics, accommodation, hiking difficulty, and how the experience works inside Torres del Paine.
Is this the complete point-to-point W Trek?
This program visits the W Trek’s three signature areas. Base Torres, the French Valley and Grey Glacier but it does not follow the traditional point-to-point refugio route. You return to an equipped base camp in the Río Serrano sector after the first two hiking days and use arranged transportation and catamarans to reach each trailhead.
How difficult is the Guided W Trek Highlights program?
The program is moderate to challenging. The Base Torres and French Valley days each involve approximately 22 km / 13.7 miles of hiking over uneven mountain terrain. You should be comfortable walking for up to eight hours on consecutive days and arrive with good physical conditioning.
Where will I stay?
You stay in a hotel in Puerto Natales on the first and fourth nights. During the guided hiking program, you spend two nights at an equipped campsite in the Río Serrano sector. Camping includes a tent, sleeping bag, liner and sleeping mat.
What should I pack?
Bring waterproof hiking boots, thermal and insulating layers, a waterproof jacket and trousers, gloves, sun protection, a daypack, a reusable water bottle and any personal medication. A detailed packing recommendation will be provided before departure.
