How Much Does the W Trek Cost? 2026-27 Prices from Puerto Natales

W Trek prices often show only one part of the trip. Here is the complete cost of our three W Trek programs, what each price includes and what you still need to budget for.
The final price depends on four choices: guided or self-guided, tents or refugio beds, five hiking days or three, and when you travel.
Quick answer
With DoPatagonia, the Self-Guided W Trek starts at US$2,949 per person for seven days. The Guided W Trek starts at US$3,895, and the five-day W Trek Highlights starts at US$2,500.
These 2026-27 prices include every night listed in the itinerary, all meals on the trail, the Torres del Paine entrance, the required catamaran trips and the transfers listed in each program. Flights, the bus between Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales, travel insurance, personal expenses and tips are not included.

What is not in the price, and roughly what it costs
- Flights. Santiago to Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales, and your international flights. We do not sell them; we tell you which airport and which day work.
- Bus between Punta Arenas or Punta Arenas Airport and Puerto Natales. Current fares start at about CLP 11,000 each way. Prices and schedules can change, so check the operator before traveling.
- Travel insurance that covers trekking. Do not skip it.
- Optional add-ons for the 2026-27 season include refugio beds instead of tents, the Grey Glacier ice hike from US$365 and kayaking on Grey Lake from US$289. Availability and final prices must be confirmed for your travel date.
- Personal expenses and tips.
Where the money goes if you book it yourself
A self-organized W has the same seven parts, and each one is a separate booking: four nights in the park with two operators, full board or your own food for five days, the park entrance, the catamaran, the buses to and from the park, two hotel nights in Puerto Natales, and the gear you do not own, from the sleeping bag to the mattress. Add the time to line all of it up and the risk when one piece moves. Our price is that chain already solved, with someone who answers when the boat schedule changes.
The four choices that move the price
- Tents or beds. Equipped camps are what our prices include; refugio beds cost more and sell out first. See camping vs lodging.
- Guided or self-guided. The Guided W Trek costs US$946 more per person than the self-guided version. See exactly what the guide and field support add in guided vs self-guided.
- Five hiking days or three. The W Trek Highlights costs US$449 less than the self-guided classic. It has two fewer hiking days but still includes Base Torres, the French Valley and Grey Glacier.
- When you travel. The trek costs the same all season, but December to February sells out first and the flights cost more. March and November are the value months. See the best time to visit Patagonia.
How to spend less without losing the trek
- Travel in November or March.
- Sleep in the equipped camps; they are what the price includes and what most of our travelers choose.
- Go self-guided if you have done multi-day treks before.
- Fly to Punta Arenas, which has year-round flights and competition, and take the bus.
- Book early. Waiting can mean higher airfares and fewer accommodation choices.
