Our adventure begins early with a 2-hour journey to Torres del Paine National Park. The trip crosses the vast Patagonian steppe, reaching Laguna Amarga, the park's main entrance, where you’ll register with CONAF (park rangers). From there, a shuttle will take you to the Welcome Center for check-in at your refuge or camping site before starting your trek. Today's hike begins in Ascencio Valley, where you’ll enjoy expansive forests. The final ascent takes you across a vast field of giant rocks to one of the world's most iconic viewpoints: Base Torres. At an elevation of 900 meters, you’ll be amazed by the three granite towers (north, central, and south) and the bright turquoise glacial lake at their base. Capture spectacular photos and enjoy your box lunch before returning along the same path toward Torre Central. After a long and exciting day, treat yourself to a well-deserved comforting dinner at the refuge.

During this trek, you’ll cross beautiful crystal-clear streams and be able to admire the hanging glaciers from Mount Almirante Nieto at 2,670 meters high. Watch for majestic condors soaring overhead as you pass along the fascinating waters of Lake Nordenskjöld. Follow the trail to reach either Los Cuernos refuge or the Francés Dome, where you can relax and rest for the night.

We recommend an early start! This hike will take you to the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. Prepare for a day filled with stunning Patagonian landscapes as you reach the entrance to the French Valley. You can leave your backpack at the Italiano campground, where rangers are stationed, and begin your ascent toward the French Valley. Climb over large rocks and continue through the forest until you reach the French Plateau (French viewpoint). Here, you will be rewarded with incredible views of Los Cuernos, turquoise glacial lagoons, and amazing hanging glaciers descending the eastern face of Paine Grande (3,050 m). If you're lucky, you may hear the glacier's thunderous sounds and see water cascading, or even witness an avalanche. Enjoy your box lunch and a well-deserved break. Then, descend along the same path to the Italiano campground and back to Paine Grande refuge.

From there, if you continue walking for about 10 minutes, you'll arrive at the Grey Glacier viewpoint, where you can admire this stunning blue ice mass.
