Terms & Conditions
Before You Book
All multi-day programs require advance planning and prepayment due to limited availability in remote destinations across Patagonia. By booking, travelers acknowledge that services are secured in advance.
Booking and Confirmation
Confirmation: A reservation is considered confirmed only once payment has been received and written confirmation has been issued by DoPatagonia.
By booking, the traveler authorizes DoPatagonia to design, coordinate, and secure all services on their behalf. While DoPatagonia manages the planning and organization of the experience, certain services are delivered by local providers who are responsible for their on-the-ground execution.
Reservations are personal in nature and may be subject to provider conditions, name requirements, and service availability at the time of confirmation.
Payment Terms & Billing Identification
Deposit: 30% of the total program cost is required to secure the booking.
Final Payment: The remaining 70% is due 105 days before your trip starts. Failure to complete payment by this deadline may result in cancellation and loss of the deposit.
Currency: All trip costs are quoted and processed in US Dollars (USD).
Currency Conversion: If payment is made using a non-USD card or account, the exchange rate and any applicable international transaction fees will be determined by your bank or card provider. DoPatagonia is not responsible for these charges.
Billing Identification: Charges will appear as “WT DOPATAGONIA”.
Payment Confirmation: For credit card payments, a payment confirmation is generally issued immediately, followed by an updated invoice within 24–48 hours.
For bank transfers, confirmation and updated invoice are issued once funds are received and verified, typically within 1–5 business days.
Cancellations & Refunds
Important: All dates below are calculated from the first day of your trip with DoPatagonia.
105+ Days before departure: Refund minus a $250 USD administrative and processing fee.
104–90 Days: 70% refund of total payments made.
89–70 Days: 30% refund of total payments made.
69 Days or fewer: No refunds.
Operational Commitments: Accommodations, transportation, permits, and key services in Patagonia must often be secured and prepaid well in advance due to limited availability. For this reason, cancellations made within 69 days of the trip start date are non-refundable.
Health & Safety Considerations
Physical Fitness: Travelers are expected to be in appropriate physical and mental condition for trekking in remote areas of Patagonia.
These experiences take place in environments with limited access to medical facilities, and assistance may not be immediately available in all locations.
Safety Waiver: Travelers may be required to complete a safety and liability form prior to the start of the program, in accordance with operational and provider requirements.
Failure to complete required safety documentation may affect participation in certain activities or services.
Evacuation: Any costs for evacuation (injury, illness, or fatigue) are the sole responsibility of the traveler..
Force Majeure & Operational Conditions
Patagonia is a remote and dynamic environment. Weather conditions, transport disruptions, delays, strikes, civil unrest, war, airport closures, or decisions by local authorities may affect the planned itinerary.
Routes, accommodations, or services may be modified based on safety, availability, and provider conditions.
If a route is closed or access is not possible, alternative arrangements will be coordinated based on availability.
Additional nights, meals, transportation, or logistical adjustments may be required. These services depend on local providers and availability, and any associated costs are the responsibility of the traveler.
Due to the nature of operations in remote destinations, many services are secured and prepaid in advance. For this reason, our standard cancellation and refund policies remain applicable in all such situations and do not change based on events beyond our control.
Our commitment: In all situations, DoPatagonia will do its best to assist, guide, and coordinate the best available alternatives so your experience can continue as smoothly as possible.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travelers hold a comprehensive travel insurance policy appropriate for remote travel in Patagonia.
Coverage should include high-risk activities such as trekking, emergency medical evacuation, and trip interruption.
Due to the remote nature of these experiences, unexpected changes can involve significant costs.
Travelers are responsible for selecting adequate coverage for their specific activities, route conditions, and travel plans.
DoPatagonia is not responsible for the denial of claims or the failure of any insurer to provide coverage.
Passports, Visas & VAT (IVA)
Entry Requirements: Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they meet all passport, visa, and entry requirements for Chile, Argentina, or any other destination included in their itinerary.
Passport Validity: Passports must be in good condition and valid for the duration of the trip. However, we strongly recommend a minimum validity of 6 months beyond the return date to avoid issues with airlines or border authorities.
Blank Pages: Passports should have at least one blank page available for entry and exit stamps.
Visa Requirements: Entry requirements vary depending on nationality. It is the traveler’s responsibility to verify visa conditions and any applicable fees directly with the relevant consulates or official government sources prior to departure.
Changes in Regulations: Entry requirements, visa policies, and travel restrictions may change without notice. DoPatagonia is not responsible for any denied entry, delays, or additional costs resulting from incomplete or incorrect travel documentation.
VAT (IVA) Exemption in Chile: To qualify for the 19% VAT exemption on lodging, foreign travelers must present their original passport and the PDI entry slip (Tarjeta de Turismo) at check-in.
If these documents are not presented, the corresponding tax must be paid directly by the traveler.
